Ysgol Llanbedr D C

'Dysgu am byth - Learning for life'

Welcome

Foundation and Nursery

Our Nursery, Reception, Year One and Year Two pupils are altogether in one large and airy classroom within the main school building. They have continuous and free flow access to their own outdoor classroom.

Our Forest Schools session is every Monday afternoon whatever the weather! Please remember to wear layers and bring seasonally appropriate gear - hats and gloves in the colder months, sunblock and sunhat in the summer.

All pupils at Ysgol Llanbedr are asked to keep at school a pair of named wellingtons which can be changed into for Forest School.

Homework

We encourage all pupils to consolidate their skills learnt at school by doing homework at home. This enables parents to see what is being learnt at school and to support their child in their learning journey making education and partnership between school and home. Homework at this young age will include sharing story books, listening to your child read, completing Maths and literacy work. These may be online or paper based. Your teacher will set this work and keep you updated with what can be done.

We believe that when children are supported at home with developing their basic skills, their self esteem and attitude to work increases greatly. Please ask your teacher for advice or guidance. We hold regular workshops for parents on the best way to support your child with their learning.
